This is the third copy of this book I have purchased, having given away my other two, that how much I love it. Isaacson wrote an excellent biography of Franklin, one that I've reread a few times. I know the expression"like you were there" is overused but this book actually makes you feel you knew the real Franklin. I've been reading a lot about the younger Franklin recently, his time as an apprentice to his brother James, a printer, his self-education, his escape to Philadelphia, but this book presents the complete Franklin in a way thats reachable. Its not complicated reading, its an exciting story that makes you totally familiar with the man, warts and all.

An excellent biography

Benjamin Franklin was a complicated personality whose political views changed over time. Franklin used Greek Philosophy as stepping stones from which he derived his first views on politics, virtues, and moral pragmatism but he shaped and modified these views as he aged. It is probably impossible to capture the essence of Benjamin Franklin's nature but this biography does it as well as it can be done. Franklin was invaluable when it came to editing the Declaration of Independence and negotiating the post-war treaties with France and England which established the first 13 colonies as an independent nation. Franklin preached tolerance and patience to the delegates as they argued about the creation of a representative form of government for the colonies. Concise and impartial this biography credits the imaginative Benjamin Franklin with having a significant influence on American culture and politics.

Delightful Read of a Delightful Man

I loved this book. Franklin lived a interesting life, and the author tells it well. The book is full of wisdom and insight into this historic figure. Often people have limited information concerning someone's history, but the author details his story well. I really liked the character because of his diplomatic ways. He rather fought with people publicly, and would tell stories to make his points in matters of disagreement. This was not passive aggressive behavior, which numerous modern people would accuse him of, but rather he was a gentleman seeking discourse, not debate. There is a big difference. One must remember that Jesus did the same thing. Another interesting point is that Franklin spent a lot of his time in Europe. It seems odd to me that he did, and he was not much of a family man, and lacked male friendship, and perhaps had too much female friendship, though it seems through his letters, he wanted more.

Another interesting point is that his name is on all four of the founding documents of this nation of America. He was smart in dealing with people, and of course, he was a curious person, and did some science work. There is much we can learn of him, and there is much to just appreciate. He was a interesting man, and the author keeps the book interesting too.

About the Author
Timothy A. Brown is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Boston University, and Director of Research at Boston University's Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. He has published extensively in the areas of the classification of anxiety and mood disorders, vulnerability to emotional disorders, psychometrics, and methodological advances in social sciences research. In addition to conducting his own grant-supported research, Dr. Brown serves as a statistical investigator or consultant on numerous federally funded research projects. He has been on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, including a longstanding appointment as Associate Editor to the Journal of Abnormal Psychology.

David H. Barlow is an internationally recognized expert and leader in clinical psychology, having pioneered many treatments and investigations in anxiety and mood disorders. Currently Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Psychiatry at Boston University, Dr. Barlow is also founder and Director Emeritus of the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, one of the largest research clinics of its kind in the world. Previously, he was Distinguished Professor at State University of New York at Albany. From 1975 to 1979, he was Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at Brown University, where he also founded the clinical psychology internship program. From 1969 to 1975, he was Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he founded the Medical School psychology residency program. Dr. Barlow received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, his M.A. from Boston College, and his Ph.D. from the University of Vermont. He is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement award from the American Psychological Association as well as the James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award from the Association for Psychological Science, which honors individuals for their lifetime of significant intellectual achievements in applied psychological research.

This is the second book I have read by K.D. Grace, and it will not be my last

The premise of this book had me hooked before the first page was read. How could you turn up a pair of boots that are inhabited by a sexy demon and you get a sexy protector to keep you from major harm? That's exactly what happens to Jill when the boots and the demon who inhabit them, Eleanor, come to an agreement. Jill will up her experience quotient, Eleanor gets to act on her impulses and Finn, well Finn is there to protect Jill from harm until Eleanor leaves on the full moon.

With incredibly well defined characters, fun secondary characters to enhance the story, a tiny bit of danger, Jill's increasing confidence and daring, and the romance / love match that develops between Jill and Finn with Eleanor's approval and a touch of complicity, this was a one-sitting page turning read.

The sex is hot, with an added touch of sweetness coming from the tender and loving additions to the sex scenes, particularly between the three main characters of Jill, Finn and Eleanor. But, this isn't all just MFM action, there are hot scenes with just women and a really steamy M/M scene that sneaks in there as Eleanor is flexing her muscles so Jill gets the experiences of her life.

This is the second book I have read by K.D. Grace, and it will not be my last. With a sense of enjoyment of one another for all characters, in and out of the bedroom, tenderness and some truly sensual scenes that tug at emotional heartstrings, her smooth writing brings something for every reader.

This is one sexy, sexy read. It's hard not to like a girl who embraces her wild side with the help of a lust demon and a hunky male witch. Jill goes from repressed to sex kitten in the space of one shoe buying spree. And it works. Finn and she have sparks. Finn and Eleanor have sparks. Eleanor and Jill have sparks. It was a sweet, sweet combustion of parts and trust and sexy times.

Lest you think this was all about sex, there's also a nice romance brewing between the three. Yes, the sex is a big part of their relationship -- with good reason seeing as how Eleanor thrives on sex -- but they also have these moments where they connect on a more than physical level. It's sweet without taking away from the sexy. I approve of that.

Short enough to read in one sitting but long enough to give you all the story you desire, the dynamic between all the players was fantastic and the trust that Jill gave Finn and Eleanor was well done.

This was a great book by KD Grace.
Kinky boots has a great story line with some sexy characters.
You have some sexy boots (demon included), hot sex and throw in some love and you have a great one!

A novel about a son's memories of his courageous father.

This is the only novel written by the Australian ethnographic filmmaker T.G.H. Strehlow. It documents the last journey of his father, Carl Strehlow, which ended at a Central Australia hotel at Horshoe Bend. The text weaves Aranda Dreamtime legends with the thoughts and observations of a 14-year-old boy. It also gives rare insight into the workings of the Australian Lutheran Church in the early part of this century and records the harsh conditions encountered by the "bush folk" of the cattle stations in the centre of Australia at a time when there was only one car in the state. It is a story of love, courage, faith and despair that, at times, parallels Christ's journey to the cross.
