Probably like you, I am just out of a relationship and hurting. So I bought this book. It helped. There was a tie-in to another series of books (which I wonder if she gets a piece of the action)...which perhaps because I'm desperate and in pain (people feed on the lonely hearted), I bought that series...but it has already given me hope that I"m not alone and that once again in my life...this shall pass. In the meantime however, I need help. So hopefully what I purchased (The Breakup Cure) will do the job.

Awesome advice in this book!

I think this book is an awesome read for anyone really. Even if you have never been through a tough break up, this book is filled with great advice if you need it for future reference. I have been through a really hard breakup before, and I found myself doing things to cope that was more destructive than helpful. Boy, how I wish this book was around back then! I would have dodged many mistakes! I am thankful that in my situation, a break up was good to give us time away, and now we have been married for eight years, and have three beautiful children. I found that the positive things we did to help us love ourselves, and love one another unselfishly, were found in this book. It's fact that a breakup is painful and can cause you to become an emotional mess, with your emotions driving your actions instead of using logic. This book has awesome advice and the one thing I like most, is it focuses on you being healthy and happy. Even if you are perfectly happy with your girlfriend/boyfriend, or are happily married, this book is great to read because it points out a lot of things we take for granted. This book can help you learn to appreciate what you do have.

I thought this book was awesome in giving instructions on how to deal with a relationship breakup in a healthy and productive way. So many times we end relationships in a unhealthy way by either not completely separating ourselves physically and emotionally from the other person and not taking the time to completely heal from it.

This book really helps you to deal with the different phases, emotions and the necessary steps to either deal with or accept a breakup. I really enjoyed the step by step instructions for dealing with a breakup, accepting it, and healing from it so that you can move on. It makes you take a good look at your relationship and gets you to examine it before you decide whether it is healthy for you to continue in it.
I love the fact that this book keeps reminding you that you are worthy of having the relationship that you desire and deserve.
I give this book 2 thumbs up and recommend it for anyone who is going through, just getting over or contemplating a breakup.

About the Author
Tariq Ramadan is Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at the Oxford University (Oriental Institute, St Antony’s College) and also teaches at the Oxford Faculty of Theology. About the Author
Brian Flintoff is a master bone-carver, whose work is held on marae through Aotearoa and in private and public collections and museums throughout the world. He has been carving for over 35 years, and has been most influenced in his work by traditional Maori artists, as well as artists from other indigenous cultures, especially that of the West Coast Canadian Indian tribes. He is the author of Taonga Puoro: Singing Treasures, about the musical instruments of the Maori, and Brian is also widely regarded as one of Aotearoa's pre-eminent makers of Maori instruments. He works from his home studio in Nelson.

About the Author

Kenneth J. Peak is a full professor and former Chairman of the Department of Criminal Justice, University of Nevada, Reno, where he was named “Teacher of the Year” by the university’s Honor Society. After serving for several years as a municipal police officer in Kansas, Ken subsequently held positions as a nine-county criminal justice planner for southeast Kansas, Director of a four-state Technical Assistance Institute for the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, Director of University Police at Pittsburg State University (and, later, as Acting Director of Police Services, University of Nevada, Reno), and Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Wichita State University. He has authored or coauthored 28 textbooks and 2 historical books on bootlegging and temperance. His other recent books include Policing America: Methods, Issues, Challenges, 8th ed.; Community Policing and Problem Solving: Strategies and Practices, 6th ed. (with R. W. Glensor); Police Supervision and Management, 3rd ed. (with L. K. Gaines and R. W. Glensor); and Women in Law Enforcement Careers (with V. B. Lord). He also has published more than 60 monographs, journal articles, and invited chapters on a variety of policing topics. His teaching and research interests include general and community policing, planned change, administration, victimology, and comparative justice systems. Ken has served as chairman of the Police Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS); president of the Western and Pacific Association of Criminal Justice Educators; and Deputy Chair, Academic Review Committee for ACJS. He holds a doctorate from the University of Kansas, and received two gubernatorial appointments to statewide committees while residing in Kansas.

Would strongly encourage students to use this, and avoid the buy used, resell maybe, likely keep routine.

Renting or digital are more efficient, reasonable and useful.

Good text, full topix coverage

We covered this book 2 chapters a week over an 8 week term and it was very manageable. While the book is kind of a "meh" read as there are little diagrams and less pictures to break up the reading, it is still not an overwhelming amount of information in each chapter. While my course did not utilize any of the books activities so I can't rate those, the book gives enough information to lead you in the right direction for sources and explains things well enough that even if your professor doesn't supplement, it is good.

Ok, so I'm starting my search and study in the subject of Electronics. This book is presented in a notebook format and notes. It seems like the way it's presented, will provide basics and maybe more. Full of drawings and two tables, at the beginning and the end of the book to reference regarding terms along with corresponding drawing. So as you read through the texts, you look up the parts for association. I think it's a good method to help memorize and learn the material. I recommend this book if you are a beginner like me.

Penetrating the labyrinth.

Correctly assessing the argument in Kant's first Critique is one of the most difficult exercises in philosophy and often overly stylized summaries induce illusions of clarity, when the real argument is in the background, almost too arcane to be grasped, and leaving one in the distressing condition of realizing one hasn't understood a thing. This account has to be the best of the lot, attempting without compromises to survey the whole majestic range. Good job.

good, but there are better books on Kant

I bought this book from amazon.com a few years ago while enrolled in German Critical Philosophy--all Kant. Six books. I found Gardner's book--as well as the Routledge Guidebook (RG) on Wittgenstein--to be not as comprehensive as I wanted or needed. For example, the RG series will take some themes and break them down for the reader. While this is good, they weren't linked back up to the overarching themes. Basically, the RG series aren't deep enough or broad enough.

I would not recommend buying this book if you're hoping for a quick fix to understanding CPR. Look for articles on specific topics in _Kant Studien_, a Kant journal your library should have. Beck and also Kemp Smith have good basic intro books on Kant and CPR. Also check with your professor about who is a prominent Kant scholar and check out books by them. (Henry?) Allison has a really great book on Kant's aesthetics, which is ultimately tied up with the epistemology in CPR.

recent edit: obviously I'm biased to my own review, but this book is not the best general commentary on Kant and CPR, though it may be the easiest to find or come across here on the internet. Dig deeper and you'll be rewarded. Trust me.
